Areas of Specialisation

I regularly anaesthetise for a wide range of surgical specialties in both the public and private setting. My subspecialty is cardiothoracic and transplant anaesthesia. Other medical interests include high risk patients for non-cardiac surgery, upper gastrointestinal hepatobiliary surgery, maxillofacial and dental surgery, neurosurgery, orthopaedics and trauma, and obstetrics.

Background

Following completion of my undergraduate medical degree at Monash University, I completed anaesthetic training at The Alfred Hospital where I am currently employed as a cardiothoracic and general anaesthesiologist and hold the position of Deputy Director of Cardiothorcic, Burns and Trauma anaesthesiology (State Services).

I maintain and further my professional knowledge and skill by participating in the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists Continuing Professional Development program, and by completion of further postgraduate study.

I hold a Diploma of Perioperative Transoesophageal Echocardiography from the American Society of Echocardiography, a Graduate Certificate of Clinical Teaching and Specialist Certificate of Clinical Leadership from Melbourne University.
